Feeling The Pressure
October 2008

In many ways, you're no different than anybody else. I'm sure that you too are feeling the pressures of these times. This generation, and maybe even the generation before this one, has never been under so much pressure. Everything seems to be bearing down on us all at once - the economy, high fuel prices ( which seems to be driving the cost of everything else up with it ), escalating debts, foreclosures, presidential elections, unemployment rates, ongoing wars, ongoing reports of possible future wars, on and on it goes, and it's only natural to feel the pressure!

In fact, many are staggering and reeling under all of the pressures of life that they are being faced with on a daily basis. "What's going to happen next?" "What's going to become of my family?" "What are we going to do?" "Is there any hope for our country?" "What if ..." Don't be ashamed to admit it, we are all feeling the pressure of living in these last days!

Yet, in all of these troubled times, I see something very positive that can potentially come out of all this mess. I believe that these bad times are going to drive people to God like never before. Where else can they go in times like these? Sports, night clubs, and entertainment are no loner going to be able to make people forget about their problems. People's problems today are just too big!

Do you remember what happened to the sports world and the entertainment world after 9/11? They came to a complete stand still! What did people do then? They started turning to God! But as you now know, that didn't last very long. America in general is going right back out to the pig pen. And if you don't think God ever allows chaos and turmoil to break out in order to turn His people back to Him, then you have never read the Bible friend!

I think we need to listen to the Psalmist David, "When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to that Rock that is higher than I." ( Psalm 61:1-4 read it )
